Director
The Director, who will be accountable to the Executive Director and Executive team, is responsible for overseeing the staff and day-to-day operations of the Early Learning and Extended Care Programs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: program enrollment, ensuring compliance with all outside agencies (i.e., Licensing, Division of Early Learning, Early Learning Coalition, etc.), hiring and staffing as needed, maintaining required documentation for staff and student files, and handling family concerns professionally with an emphasis on customer service. Directors are also responsible for creating and maintaining a professional work environment that promotes teamwork and fosters professional growth of teachers and staff.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
- Minimum two years director experience
- A minimum of one year teaching experience in VPK classroom
- Successful completion of the Director-in-Training Program offered by Superior Schools
- Flexible schedule that allows you to work both opening and closing shifts on a rotating basis
- Must be 21years old
- Must meet all the requirements of childcare staff
- Active Director Credential with VPK Endorsement (must be renewed every 5 years)
- Successful results from the Central Abuse Hotline Records Search
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Completion of 10 hours in-service training annually
- Completion of any additional training that may be required by Licensing, DEL, or ELC
Early Learning team members will create a safe, flexible class environment favorable to children’s individual learning and personal growth. They will work to establish effective rapport with students and know their individual needs to be successful and will motivate and challenge each student to reach their highest potential. Teachers will ensure they provide children with a solid foundation to be lifelong learners by fostering not only their academic growth but also facilitating positive social and emotional development.
VPK Teacher
Qualifications:
- Availability to work full time
- Completion of the required pre-service training and/or 45-hour DCF Child Care Training
- Completion of all state required literacy courses
- Successful completion of state required background checks
- Current First Aid and CPR or willing to obtain
- Completion of 10 hours in-service training due annually
Pre-K 3 Teacher
Minimum Qualifications:
- Availability to work full time
- Experience preferred
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of the required pre-service training and/or 45-hour DCF Child Care Training
- Current CDA & Staff Credential or in progress of obtaining credential
- Successful completion of state required background checks
- Current First Aid and CPR or willing to obtain
- Completion of 10 hours in-service training due annually
Two-Year-Old Teacher (certain locations)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Availability to work full time
- Experience preferred
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of the required pre-service training and/or 45-hour DCF Child Care Training
- Current CDA & Staff Credential or in progress of obtaining credential

Part-time positions available in our Before and After Care program.
Extended Care Instructor
Extended Care staff will create a safe, nurturing learning environment favorable to learning and personal growth for children ranging in Kindergarten-8th grade. They will also establish effective rapport with students and know their individual needs to be successful. Teachers will give all students an opportunity to expand their horizons and to encourage students to get involved in new activities. Staff will prepare activities that enhance socialization skills of students and focus on building positive peer interactions. They will also aid students in developing stronger homework skills.

Before Care – 7:00am-8:15am
After Care – 2:30-6:00pm
Before and After Care – 7:00am-8:15am & 2:30-6:00pm
*During Holidays and In-Service days, staff may be required to work additional hours to cover the program’s needs. Additional hours may be available to those seeking experience in a preschool setting. *
Summer Camp School Age Staff
Part time and full-time shifts are available. Summer Camp hours are from 7:00 am5:45 pm at specific locations.
Summer camp employees will give all students an opportunity to expand their horizons and encourage students to get involved in new activities and enhance their socialization skills.
You will be responsible for creating and executing weekly lesson plans that include a variety of engaging and enriching age-appropriate activities as well as create monthly activity calendars outlining special events and camp activities. Attending field trips will be required.
Minimum qualifications
- Experience preferred, but not required
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must meet all the background screening requirements
- Completion of Pre-Service training hours
- 45 clock hour childcare trainings through the Department of Children and Families or willing to obtain
- Current CPR & First Aid or willing to obtain
- Completion of 10 hours in-service training due annually
