Title: Director, Plato Academy St. Petersburg

I am Jessica Hayko, I am the St Petersburg director. I have been in the Early Learning field for 20 years, and I have been with Superior schools for 5 years. I started out with Superior as the Prek3 teacher at the Pinellas Park campus. This will be my 4th year as the director at the St Petersburg campus. I started working in the early learning field when I was a senior in high school. I worked at a local childcare center as an after school instructor and also floating in the preschool classrooms. I knew that this field is where I was meant to be. I have taught many different ages from infant up to school age students before stepping into the administrative side of the field. There is nothing that compares to being able to assist children in learning and blossoming during these important years of their lives.

My favorite part about being a director in early childhood is the bond that is created each year with both the students and the families. The beginning of the school year is one of my favorite times because of all the new students that we have joined our family. I love being able to also assist my staff in the classrooms and be a part of the learning environment. Supporting my staff and families is one of my greatest accomplishments, I want to make sure that there is an open line of communication at all times with families and staff.
